Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a machine we can use to pass mechanical energy (sound waves) through tissues to help encourage healing of an injury. This causes a mechanical / sound vibration at increasing frequencies is known as sound energy. Ultrasound can greatly influence dense collagen based tissues which include: ligament, tendon, fascia, joint capsule and scar tissue.

Please note that this is a therapeutic machine which is completely different from Diagnostic Ultrasound and Maternity Ultrasound!

Depending on if the frequency, intensity and stage of healing will determine when and how much treatment is needed.
